Would you like to start learning Catalan but are looking for a fun and accessible way to take your first steps? This Catalan course offers a unique way to discover the language through visual storytelling, engaging characters, and cultural exploration. Designed for A2-level learners, it combines reading, conversation, and guided activities to help you build confidence in Catalan while discovering contemporary and classic Catalan comics.

Across five sessions, we will explore three comics by Catalan authors, each offering a different perspective, genre, and cultural context. From the intimate portrayal of everyday life and family memories in Aiguagim, to the science fiction world of El mecanoscrit del segon origen—celebrating its 50th anniversary—and the historical and visual richness of La extraordinària història del Circ Cric, which explores cultural resistance during Franco’s dictatorship.

Each session includes guided reading, group discussion and interactive activities. We will explore vocabulary, expressions, themes and cultural references while sharing ideas and personal impressions. The final session will include a special exchange where participants bring or recommend Catalan comics they have discovered, creating a space to share, discuss and continue exploring the language together.
