In this 5-week course, students will bring a single work-in-progress of either fiction or non-fiction to revise in a guided, supportive workshop.
We’ll kick off the first session with generative writing exercises, close reading, and strategies for giving and receiving constructive feedback. The remaining sessions are dedicated to discussing student drafts. Each workshop will focus closely on two students’ work, guided and moderated by an experienced instructor. Every student will also receive a private, one-on-one feedback session with the instructor over Zoom outside of class time.
Submissions will be prose only (no poetry or screenplay, for now!) and may not exceed 4,000 words. Students are expected to read each other's work before each session.
